After the recent announcement of her second marriage, Shaista Lodhi -the renowned morning show host -is back in town after she had to leave Pakistan after being surrounded by a blasphemy controversy. She apologized for her show’s production mistake but fearing her childrens’ lives, she had to leave Pakistan.
She returned on 12th July, Saturday and was greeted with much enthusiasm from friends and fans alike and is soon to make a media appearance.
Mubasher Lucman threw her a welcome back party last night at Sweet Affairs Lahore, giving Shaista a chance to reconnect with friends and colleagues.
Lucman took the mike to publically apologize to Shaista for doing the show in which she got caught in the crossfire. Shaista said she was grateful for the warm reception and is glad to be in Pakistan.
Shaista spoke her heart out in an exclusive interview conducted by Mubasher Lucman and those present at the time watching it record could not help get emotional too. Lucman explained in detail as to what actually transpired and how Shaista got the blame. Shaista on her part explained in detail that she was doing the show at the insistence of her management and not her own as she never wanted to do it.
In a rare a shocking moment Mubasher apologized to Shaista on camera and she praised his courage and character. Shaista also explained why she came from South Africa to Lahore to meet Mubasher. Earlier a reception was given by Mubasher for Shaista where many common friends and former co workers joined to pay glowing tributes to both. Anchors, singers, socialite all got together at the famous coffee outlet Sweet Affairs in DHA.
Some renowned faces at the star studded small gathering were Ali Gillani, Nadia Jamil, Sami Ibrahim, Fawad Chaudhry, Farrukh Habib and Hassan Niazi. Asma Waqar at the moment presented a beautiful cake for Shaista with her glowing picture and the cake was cut by her.
New singing sensation, Aima Malik also entertained friends with singing a few notes.
While speaking, Shaista Lodhi said that she is blessed with family, friends and is delighted to be back home to Pakistan.
