For their bridal collection for the year 2016 aptly titled ‘Talismen’, The House of Arsalan Iqbal invites their clientele to embark on a journey back in time with them. From the days of the Ummayad Caliphate all the way to Emperor Akbar’s rule of the vast land that is the subcontinent. Chiefly drawing inspiration from the Talismans and Amulets that have run as a common thread through the centuries and across the years, a tradition common to all people across the vast sweep of the continent, regardless of culture and religion.
With a color palette that is a direct derivative of the hues seen most commonly in flora the palette runs from the deepest of Blues reminiscent of the ocean and the brightest of Yellow tinted to Marigold perfection, with Ivory, Gold and Turquoise providing start contrast to the Black, Maroon and Spring Leaf Green. All embellishments, painstakingly hand done in the most delicate of Zardozi, padded for a Bas-relief effect that is so reminiscent of the times. Fabric choices run the gamut from Luxe Brocades to Mysori, Atlus and pure Pashmina wool for shawls.
This collection is the designer’s most comprehensive bridal collection to date which will be coming out in two parts of which first will be showcased at the prestigious Telenor Bridal Couture week in December’2015 taking place in culturally rich city of Lahore.
