KFC Mitao Bhook works on a more significant cause – The Sign Movement!

Life challenges us in many ways; financially, physically and mentally. We continue to face each day with the motivation to excel. But for some, the journey is strewn with more difficulties than what others encounter. Like the deaf community of Pakistan. Their hunger to prove they are active members of society is hampered by the lack of job opportunities and education avenues available for them to excel. In times like this, it takes one person or organization to make a difference, and we are glad that KFC takes that initiative to a whole new level!

KFC has spearheaded its Mitao Bhook campaign for years, it is a CSR platform which gives back to society. Through Mitao Bhook, the brand aims to improve the life of deprived individuals to create a better society. KFC has funded research for cancer treatment with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center and also worked with The Citizen Foundation – TCF. KFC also partnered with Deaf Reach Program, with the aim to reduce the gap between Pakistan’s deaf community and their access to education and jobs.

“Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give” –Ben Carson.

For years, KFC Mitao Bhook has helped deaf individuals work and manage its restaurant network but the main trouble KFC’S special staff goes through is the communication gap between them and the customers. No matter how hard you try, sometimes it becomes difficult to understand the message they want to deliver.  Hence, KFC has originated the Sign Movement which focuses on educating their customers about the Sign Language to communicate with the staff.

With the famous and fan favorite Anoushey Ashraf, KFC has initiated their campaign “LETS SIGN TOGETHER” where a series of videos walk you through greeting, ordering and paying in Sign Language in a fun-filled manner. This will make the whole process a lot easier for the special staff and the customers in communicating.

How you can be a part of the Sign Movement? You can watch the on-going campaign, learn the gestures made in Sign Language and that’s it! Let’s be a part of the Sign Movement and strive towards a better self and society. Keep helping and keep feeling good!
