The first episode of Gul O Gulzar, featuring Kinza Hashmi and Saboor Aly, definitely stood up to the hype that was created by the trailer. The 40 mins long episode kept us engaged throughout; there wasn’t even a second that we felt bored.
The drama starts off with Gulzar and Gul studying for their upcoming exam, which later Gul gets caught cheating in. Gul is least bothered about the fact that her admission would be suspended as a result. But Gulzar, being the true friend that she is to Gul, helps her out of this mess by asking her father to talk to the principal.
In the first episode, we learn about the personalities of both the titular characters. Gulzar (Kinza Hashmi) is a naive, innocent girl who easily gets manipulated by Gul despite everyone around her warning her that Gul isn’t the best friend she thinks she is.
Gul (Saboor Aly) on the other hand is an egoistic, hard-headed girl who could go to any length to achieve what she wants— even if that means using her best friend Gulzar in the process. Gulzar, on the other hand, chooses to ignore everyone to support her friend.
The first episode ends with Gulzar being yet again manipulated by her so-called friend Gul for her own ulterior motives.
