Deewangi happens to be one of the leading dramas these days. Produced by 7th Sky Entertainment, under Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, Deewangi airs on Geo Entertainment and stars Danish Taimoor, Hiba Bukhari, and Ali Abbas in pivotal roles.
Now we see Hiba Bukhari as Nageen in the drama who had to bear a big deception at the hands of Sultan. Even after that, Nageen bounces back and redeems herself, eventually falling in love with Haroon and marrying him. Nageen isn’t your typical woman, who cries over lost love. She knows a deception when she feels one, and after marrying Haroon, she has no place for Sultan in her heart.
Here are five times, we loved how Nageen was the clap back queen in Deewangi.
1. As a bus hostess, she puts her customer into the right place when he tries to misbehave with her, without thinking of losing her job.
2. When she shuts Sultan up without accepting his job proposal. Nageen doesn’t think of the money involved, for her, her respect matters the most.
3. Unlike the typical filmy heroin, Nageen isn’t impressed with Sultan drenching in the rain all night for her. Instead, she asks him to leave her alone, telling him she does not love him at all.
4. When she listens to Haroon’s mother, narrating the tale of mistakes to her sister, Nageen simply and very easily expresses her disdain over things she hasn’t done and is being wrongly blamed for. She isn’t your typical bahu, who’d listen to her mother in law, spreading lies about her. We loved how she slammed the bowl on the table for a change.
5. When Nageen tells Sultan straight off, reminding him of what he did to her, upon meeting him again as Haroon’s wife.
As a woman, Nageen is strong and level headed. She isn’t impressed by riches and focuses on what she wants from life herself. She’s honest, she’s protective of what’s her and she knows how to stand her ground – some qualities found very rarely in our typical female leads. We love how Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi have brought this brilliant story with an unconventional female lead – something that had been missing on our TV screens!
