The Bollywood star Shabana Azmi and her husband, Javed Akhtar who’s a well-known poet and writer Javed Akhtar, will visit Karachi this month to attend a festival which will pay tribute to Kaifi Azmi (Shabana’s father).
The festival will go on February 23 and 24 at the Karachi Arts Council. Several eminent personalities across the border have also been invited to attend the festival.
While having a conversation with an Indian publication, an office bearer of the Arts Council told:
WE HAVE INVITED KAIFI AZMI’S DAUGHTER SHABANA AZMI AND HER HUSBAND JAVED AKHTAR FOR THE EVENT BESIDES SOME OTHER NOTABLE CULTURAL PERSONALITIES FROM INDIA.
He further added:
IT IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR NOTABLE AND POPULAR WRITERS, POETS AND ARTISTS FROM INDIA TO INTERACT WITH THEIR PAKISTANI COUNTERPARTS AND WE ARE CONFIDENT THE FESTIVAL WILL BE A SUCCESS.
It’s confirmed that the couple will attend this big festival. In meantime, they’ll be addressing the public too. Last time the couple was seen here attending the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Festival.
