Surkh Chandni’s teasers are released and we are surprised to see that it has taken the internet by storm. Directed by Shahid Shafat and produced by Sana Shahnawaz and Samina Humayun Saeed, Surkh Chandni is all set to air on ARY post-Eid. Starring Sohai Ali Abro and Osmaan Khalid Butt in the lead roles, the cast list also includes Mansha Pasha, Hassan Ahmed and Asad Siddiqui.
The plot of this drama serial is based on a social issue rotating around acid attack victims and their incidents not only in society but in their own house. The first teaser shows an obsessed Osman Khalid Butt with Aida (Sohai Ali Abro), an engaged couple deeply in love, making promises of staying together in spite of-of the circumstances. Aida becomes the victim of an acid attack on her wedding day.

The second teaser plays less upon shock value and hits the viewer psychologically. Sohai’s character Aida is seen in the hospital, emotionally flustered after seeing her appearance, telling Osmaan’s character “Kaise lag sakti hoon jaise pehle lagti thi tumhein?” (How can you ever see me how you used to see me?).

Aida faces abuse and victim-shaming inside the four walls of her home after her brother blames her of being immoral, otherwise why else would a man do this to her on her wedding day? Aida’s niece wakes up screaming at the sight of Aida’s face and eventually, it seems, Aida is thrown out of her house by her brother and bhabi.
