Dur-e-Fishan is making headlines in our Pakistani drama industry since her acting debut in the drama serial Dil Ruba. Currently, we are seeing her in Ary Digital’s drama Pardes.
Recently, the star appeared in an interview with BBC Asia where she discussed how women are portrayed in our drama serials.
While talking about the content audience like she spoke:
“I think woman runs our whole narrative on TV, mostly we show those women who are a part of our society. I am not saying that TV is not representing our society correctly, it is, but I believe that TV should be portraying our society in such a manner that our society would think of changing itself. “
While adding up more:
“We praise those women who are crying and who are returning back to a man who belittles them. That’s what our audience likes.”
While referring to the drama serial Pardes, she highlighted:
“Zubaida in Pardes is glorified because she is compromising. It isn’t a slight compromise that we all should do but she is compromising to a point that she is neglecting her children.”
Zubaida (Shaista Lodhi) is the mother of Aimen (Dur-e-Fishan) in the drama serial Pardes where she spent her whole life listening to her inlaws and thinking about society. It has been shown that Zubaida is compromising in one or the other thing since the start of this drama.
